ICAR – Central Plantation Crops Research Institute
The Coconut Research Station at Kasaragod in Kerala was initially established in 1916 by the then Government of Madras and subsequently it was taken over by the Indian Central Coconut Committee in 1948. Central Plantation Crops Research Institute (CPCRI) was established in 1970 as one of the agricultural research institutes in the National Agricultural Research System (NARS) under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The Institute had the mandate to undertake research on coconut, arecanut, cocoa, cashew, oil palm and spices at the time of establishment. The research on cashew, oil palm and spices were later delinked from CPCRI to form separate institutes. The present mandate of the institute is to conduct research on coconut, arecanut and cocoa.

Educational Qualifications:
Project Assistant (Palm climber): 8th standard and Should possess coconut climbing skills
Desirable: Knowledge in pollination work in coconut. experience in nursery activities in coconut
Project Assistant (Tractor/ Tiller Operator): ITI in the trade of Mechanical Agriculture Machinery & LMV Driving License.
Desirable:
Knowledge on Agriculture Machinery.
Basic information on crop production technology of plantation crops
Project Fellow: B.Sc in Horticulture or Agriculture, Botany, applied Botany, Bio sciences, Plantation Development or any Biological science.
Desirable: Knowledge in pollination work in coconut and Research experience in Seed production in plantation crops.
Age Limit:
30 years for men and 35 years for women
Age relaxation shall be applicable as per the rules
Salary:
Project Assistant (Palm climber) / Project Assistant (Tractor/ Tiller Operator): Rs. 15,000/- per month + HRA
Project Fellow: Rs. 20,000/- per month + HRA
